Science

Today I did science. We had to fill three plates with water and one with coke. In one plate with water we put a teaspoon of raro and in another one with water with a teaspoon of salt.We left one plain. We got another plate and filled it with coke. Then we put half a potato in each with the flat side down. Then we left it for half an hour.At quarter of an hour we checked the potato and the only difference was the smell. When half a hour was finished I checked it and the salt one was a bit squishy . The raro  one turned a bit yellow. The plain water didn't do much it just went a bit soggy like the others and the coke one turned brown and all the coke went flat.I found science interesting with all the changes.

What am I

Today at Enrich I did a "What am I" poem with Mackenzie.  We used the globe as our object. We had 6 clues and made a awesome slideshow for most of the pages. The slideshow was made on keynote. It was fun because Mackenzie knew more about keynote and I got to learn more about it from her.

Talent Development

This term for talent development I am doing narrative writing. I am doing my story in a pair with Destiny. Our story is about two ten year old girls named Gabby and Lilly. They just got their black belt in karate. They take their little brother Benny to the park to celebrate when... a bully steals Benny's bike! The girls have to save the bike. They fight the bully with their excellent karate then go home to celebrate.
The message of this story is don't go out alone.

Hi Hannah.
You worked really well in our writing talent development group today.  You took time to gather your thoughts, and offered your ideas with an example when we looked at the good, the bad and the interesting points of previous winners for our category in the MADE Awards.  You settled into the afternoon well, which was extremely busy with a range of workshops and activities on offer.  You did well in our drama workshop - it was great to see you having a go at all the activities.  The activity "The Hot Seat" proved very popular and gave us a chance to try and be as creative with our answers without saying yes, or no.  Keep up the great effort Hannah.

Teacher comment

Hannah you have come a long way from your initial nervousness about Enrich to now bouncing in every day and looking for the next challenge. It has been great to see you get used to working outside your comfort zone, deal with being challenged daily and develop the resilience needed to make the most these opportunities. You have certainly enjoyed the art talent development you chose and your individual and group mosaics look amazing.

This term

This term has been very busy. I have been to many different workshops like... Chemistry,P4C, Poetry and many more. This term I did my buzzy bee mosaic for talent development. My favourite things that I have done are my mosaic and chemistry. If I could change one thing I would take away the must do can do sheet.

Chemistry with Katie

Last term I did chemistry with Katie. We used red cabbage water to test if certain household items were an acid or a base.  We got to choose what we wanted to test.  The options were... lemon juice, milk, hand sanitiser, vinegar, baking soda, tomato juice, dish washing liquid or tea.  I chose tea.  If the substance was an acid, the cabbage water would turn PINK.  If the substance was a base, the cabbage water would turn BLUE.  When I tested the tea, it did not change the cabbage water to pink, or blue - it just went a brown colour!  To find out if tea was an acid or a base, I used a piece of litmus paper and compared the colour with the pH Scale.  The litmus paper went GREEN - that means tea is a NEUTRAL, which is probably why we can drink it! It was fun and easy to do.
